The Ride for Teens is coming quickly and it is important that you all sign up to ride one of the options. The Ride for Teens is a great event and I hope that everyone that can will attend. THIS WILL BE EXCELLENT PREPARATION FOR LOTOJA! If you feel like you cant ride one of the three options please contact me and we can get you hooked up as a volunteer for the day of the event. The event is very inexpensive and the money goes towards helping students at risk. If you have questions about the event itself you can contact ben (at) nanumcreek (dot) com.

We will meet at the school at 6:30am. 84 miles. Minimal stops and don’t forget to bring lots of food. Here is the link. See you there. We will stay together on the climb and hold on to everyone unless they request to be dropped. This should be a good prep for the ULCER next weekend.
So tomorrow morning we will be doing a “light” ride up to South Fork and back. We don’t want to do something really killer the day before Nebo. Meet at the school at 6:15am we are leaving at 6:15 SHARP! We need to get back in time for work.

So we are planning on doing the Nebo loop on Friday. It is 108 miles and a LOT of climbing. The steepest section is 7%. Some of the downhill sections are -9%. If you are riding LOTOJA with the group we highly encourage you to be on this ride! We are planning on leaving at 5:30 am but we can leave earlier if everyone is in agreement. Please let me know so that we can post a final start time by Wednesday morning. This will be a HARD ride and everyone will have to be willing to stay together and help those that are not the best climbers. The climbers will need to take turns pacing the group and this will be a good practice for the climbers to keep the group together for LOTOJA. There will not be much food or water once we hit the canyon so be prepared to self support until we get to Nephi. We may have Spencer’s son meet us along the way but we do not know for sure if that is in place yet. More to come so check back in for more details!

We will ride the Hobble/West Mountain Route. We will meet at 6am at the school so that we can get back in time to get some things done with our families.
If you look at the route and dont like it, we can change it to the mirror lake highway starting in Heber. Let me know what you think.
Here is the proposed route for Saturday. Please let me know if you want me to make any changes to the route. Those that are planning on riding LOTOJA please try to make it. We will be working on a tighter pace line as well as discussing strategies for keeping our group together during the ride at LOTOJA. Bring LOTS of food and water. We will leave from the school at 7am.

Remember that the 3rd of July will be the ride up and around Nebo and back through Nephi. We will be leaving at 5:30 so that we can ride in the cool weather as well as get back at a respectable time to spend some time with our families on the holiday.
So I was really excited to do the alpine summit before work today but found my self getting sicker and sicker though the night. I hope that everyone had a good time and I will try and be better at attending the rides. I am sorry to those that were depending on me to be there.
The other item: We have quite a few people that want kits or parts of kits. I have spoken to some of you already. If you want something ordered will you please email me so that I can get an official count. Please email me even if you have talked or emailed before so that I can get sizes and specifics on what you want. The sooner you get back to me the sooner we can get things ordered.
We will be doing the Alpine Loop tomorrow morning and coming back down the same side. We will be meeting at the parking lot at the mouth of the canyon at 6am and leaving shortly thereafter. Please come even if you don’t think you can make it. you can always turn around and come back. It is a great ride and will be fun to do it with lots of people.
